star society is an independent indie label solely ran by 'alakai' ( Alakai Homer ) ( also known as 'me' )

i created this collective in 2025 because i want nothing more then to support music as an art form, and advocate for and elevate artists as a whole - and i think that art in general is better preformed and experienced together.

i believe that music is more important then anything in a time like this, where culture has the power to drive positive change - without it we let the world around us change without the input of human expression.

i hope i can make a difference ultimately, and i think this group is the best shot i have at it !!

i hope to work with artists who:

⋆ work with a disregard for genre boundaries.
⋆ are willing to experiment and take risks.
⋆ have a genuine passion for music and music culture.
⋆ believe in art as a means to change the world.

additionally i vow to:

⋆ donate a portion of my cut from anything star society related to the UMAW ( United Musicians and Allied Workers )
⋆ set aside a separate fund out of my pocket solely dedicated to supporting this label and the artists part of it
⋆ make as sure as i can that this label benefits the artists part of it as much as reasonably possible.
⋆ use my voice and resources to make a difference in the world
